Cherries Ripening

The photo shows the very first of our cherries ripening. We only have one tree like this as all our cherries are late varieties which will ripen in August. However, this one tree will give us a taste of what is to come. Our harvest looks promising, with a crop that is not too heavy, which will mean that fewer cherries will ripen as larger and sweeter fruits. We just hope for some sunny days from n...

We continue to have a good spring in Scotland, with warm days to encourage the bees to pollinate the cherry blossom, but not too hot as this can make the flowers mature too quickly.
